  \n\nEspecially for new students\, academic writing can seem obscure\, 
 challenging\, and almost mysterious. We can’t promise that you’ll
  master academic writing after this introductory course\, but we will he
 lp you understand more about what it involves. We’ll give you tips on
  how to structure an academic text\, create coherence\, and use language
  precisely to convey your content clearly. We’ll also show you where 
 to find more information and how to familiarize yourself with the writing
  traditions in your field of study. \n\nTopics covered:  \n\nWhat char
 acterizes academic writing \n\nLanguage and style in academic texts \n
 \nStructuring the text into paragraphs and chapters \n\nEffective commun
 ication \n\nUseful resources for further learning \n\nThis course will 
 help you understand what academic writing is\, and what it isn’t\, so 
 that you can feel more confident about how to develop your own writing 
 skills further.  \n\nTarget audience: This course is primarily intende
 d for bachelor’s and master’s students\, but PhD candidates and instr
