  are appropriate? What does peer review really mean? This course answers 
 these questions—and more.\n\nWe'll show you how to search for the liter
 ature you need and how to evaluate which sources are suitable for your as
 signment. The course lasts about two hours and is the first of two sessio
 ns designed to help you get started on your assignment. The second course
  is called A flying start to your thesis 2: Learn About Citation\, Using 
 Sources\, and Plagiarism\, but each course can be taken independently. Yo
 u decide whether to attend both or just one.\n\nTopics covered:\n\nEffect
 ive literature searching\n\nUsing databases like Oria\, Google Scholar\, 
 and Web of Science\n\nEvaluation of sources for your thesis\n\nTarget aud
 ience: This course is primarily intended for bachelor’s and master’s 
 students\, but PhD candidates and instructors may also benefit. Everyone 
 is welcome!\n\nDuration: 2 x 45 minutes\n\nWhere: The course will be held
