DESCRIPTION:A short introduction What is academic writing\, really?   E
 specially for new students\, academic writing can seem obscure\, challen
 ging\, and almost mysterious. We can’t promise that you’ll master
  academic writing after this introductory course\, but we will help you u
 nderstand more about what it involves. We’ll give you tips on how to 
 structure an academic text\, create coherence\, and use language precise
 ly to convey your content clearly. We’ll also show you where to find 
 more information and how to familiarize yourself with the writing traditi
 ons in your field of study.  Topics covered:   What characterizes acad
 emic writing  Language and style in academic texts  Structuring the te
 xt into paragraphs and chapters  Effective communication  Useful resour
 ces for further learning  This course will help you understand what acad
 emic writing is\, and what it isn’t\, so that you can feel more confid
 ent about how to develop your own writing skills further.   Target au
 dience: This course is primarily intended for bachelor’s and master’
 s students\, but PhD candidates and instructors may also benefit. Everyon
 e is welcome!  Duration: 2 x 45 minutes  Where: The course will be held
