Smart Start with the Library: What You Need to Know as a Student

Are you unsure how to cite your sources, find relevant articles for your assignments, or write in an academic style? Wondering how to access your required readings and reliable subject resources? Or maybe you just need a quiet place to study?

This short, digital introduction course gives you an overview of everything the library can offer you as a student. You'll learn how to:

  • find and borrow books
  • access our digital resources
  • sign up for courses and guidance
  • find information on searching, referencing, reference management tools, LaTeX, and academic writing

Whether you're new to university or simply curious about the library's services – this course is a smart place to start.

Target audience: The course is intended for new students, but can also be useful for students that haven’t visited the library earlier in their studies. Anyone is welcome to participate.

Duration: 30-45 minutes

Language: English (Kurset finnes også i en norsk versjon, se vår katalog)

Where: The course will be held in the Virtual Library's course room (the link opens Zoom)

Please note that courses may be cancelled if there are too few registered to participate; in such cases, those registered will be notified the day before.
